ساهمت مسيرة الفنان المصري الرائد أحمد نوار، مواليد مدينة الغربية في مصر عام 1945، في تحويل تشكيل الفن في موطنه الأم والعالم العربي وأثرت في حراك الفن الحديث من خلال الدراسات والتجارب على مدى 40 عاما.

تفكك أعمال الفنان نوار، الحاصل على بكالوريوس في الفنون الجميلة من جامعة القاهرة (1967) ودرجة البروفسور  في الرسم من اكاديمية سانت فرناندو في مدريد (1975)، لتكوين يتداخل فيه اشكالا هندسية حادة الروابط المتشابكة بين البشرية والحضارة لتضعها تحت المجهر، وتحفز مشاعر المتلقي لاتخاذ رد فعل استجابة المتغيرات المتسارعة ويصبح جزءا من التغيير او يكون التغيير بحد ذاته.

تقلد الفنان نوار عدة مناصب مهمة في مسيرته الفنية منها: رئيس قسم المتاحف في المجلس الاعلى للتحف في مصر (1994 – 1999) المشرف العام لصندوق نوبا (1996 – 1998) عميد ومؤسس كلية الفنون الجميلة في جامعة مينا في مصر (1982 – 1988) مستشار في المركز الوطني للابحاث في مصر (1980 – 1983) ومستشار في مجلس الشعب (البرلمان المصري) منذ 1999. وبعد اول معرض فردي له في محترف القاهرة عام 1965، تتالت مشاركات الفنان نوار في المحافل الفنية على صعيد مصر والعالم حيث اقام 80 معرضا شخصا، وشارك في اكثر من 100 معرض جماعي  ومهرجانات وبينالي في مصر والنرويج والسويد واسبانيا وفرنسا والكويت والعراق وايطاليا والولايات المتحدة وكوبا والامارات والنمسا والاردن والمغرب والبرازيل وغيرها من الدول في الفترة من 1969 الى 2012.

أشرف الفنان والاكاديمي المصري على مجموعة من رسائل الماجستير والدكتوراه في عدة جامعات في مصر، وله عدة مقالات في النقد الفني في أهم الصحف العربية، وهو حاصل على جائزة الشراع الذهبي للطباعة من بينالي الكويت الدولي (1987) وجائزة امتياز خاصة ل"مصر القرن الواحد والعشرين" في الدورة الاولى لبينالي بيكين للفن الدولي (2004) وغيرها من الجوائز.

من أهم مقتنيي أعمال الفنان نوار ضمن مجموعتهم الخاصة على سبيل العد وليس الحصر: متحف الفن الحديث في القاهرة، متحف الفن المعاصر في مدريد، المقتنيات الخاصة لمؤسسة فريدريك ستاد في النرويج، جامعة مالقة الاسبانية، وزارة الثقافة في فرنسا والمتحف العربي للفن الحديث في قطر الى جانب اقتنائها من قبل اشخاص ومتاحف ومؤسسات أخرى.

 

 

Born in Gharbia, Egypt in 1945, Ahmed Nawar is a prominent artist who's journey, studies, and experiments contributed in swaying the formula of art and influenced the movement in modernism in the region for over 40 years.

 

Graduated from the Faculty of Fine Art, Cairo University (1967), obtained a “Professorship” in Painting from St Fernando Academy-Madrid (1975) and holds the position of Head of the Ministry of Culture, Sector of Fine Arts since 1988, Nawar's figurative injected with geometric sharp shapes, whether in paintings or installations, breaks down the connection between humanity and civilization, provokes the audience's emotions, feelings to act in response of rapid transformation and be part of the change or be the change itself.

 

Nawar held several important posts in the course of his life as an artist such as Head of the Museums Sector of the Supreme Council of Antiquities in Egypt from 1994 to 1999, General Supervisor of the Nubia Saving Fund from 1996 to 1998, Dean and founder of the Faculty of Fine Art at Menia University, Egypt from 1982 to 1988, Head of the Graphic Department at the Faculty of Fine Art at same university from 1983 to 1988, Adviser to the National Centre for Research from 1980 to 1983 and Adviser to the People’s Assembly since 1999.

 

After his first solo exhibition in Cairo Atelier in 1965, Nawar's held 80 solo exhibitions and over 100 collective exhibitions, art fairs and biennales in Egypt, Norway, Sweden, Spain, France, Kuwait, Iraq, Italy, USA, Cuba, UAE, Austria, Jordan, Morocco, Brazil, Canada, UK and Belgian just to name a few between 1969 and 2012.

 

Nawar supervised many theses for master degree and PhD in different faculties of art in Egypt, published articles in art criticism, and received several awards and prizes including The Golden Sail Prize for print in Kuwait International Biennale (1987) and Special prize of excellence for “Egypt of the 21st Century” in the first session Beijing International Art Biennale (2004).

His work is acquired in private collections and by museums and institutes across the Middle East and worldwide such as Museum of Modern Art in Cairo, Museum of Contemporary Art in Madrid, Private collection of Fredrikstad in Norway, Malaga University in Spain, The Ministry of Culture in France (the acquisition decision was made by the committee of creativity) and Arab Museum of Modern Art in Doha, Qatar.
