مقدمة
المعرض من تنسيق نور الدباغ و قسورة حافظ، أعمالا ل ٣٧ من الفنانين السعوديين في متوسط مسيرتهم الفنية و من الفنانين الناشئين الذين جسدوا بكل حرية، عبر أوساط فنية معاصرة مختلفة كالرسم والنحت والفيديو والتصوير وفن القماش والسيراميك والأعمال التركيبية و غيرها، وجهات نظرهم حول ما يتدفق في مجتمعاتنا اليوم وما يتدفق في نفوسهم. وتشمل القضايا المطروحة زوايا مختلفة من حياتنا المعاصرة كنزوح اللاجئين، والتوسع العمراني، وانتشار التكنولوجيا، والإلهام الروحي، و توارد الذكريات.
وبمناسبة إفتتاح المعرض، قالت نور الدباغ، من مؤسسة بنفسجيل و القائمة على المعرض: "لقد قمنا، السنة الماضية، بإطلاق دعوة عامة لكل الفنانين السعوديين لطرح تفسير ذاتي لما تعنيه كلمة ”تدفق“ لهم شخصياً، ضمن اختصاصاتهم الفنية، و جمعنا مفاهيما مختلفة و مؤثرة من فنانين معروفين و ناشئين ".
من جهته، وضح قسورة حافظ، مؤسس حافظ جاليري و القائم على المعرض: " تعكس مفاهيم الفنانين الأجواء المتقلبة التي نعيشها اليوم. فنحن نعيش اليوم ظاهرة التدفق في جميع جوانب حياتنا اليومية: ”تدفق“ الشعوب عبر الحدود في نزوح اللاجئين، ”تدفق“ خصوصيات الناس عبر شبكات التواصل الاجتماعي، ”التدفق“ المعرفي عبر مؤسسات تعليمية غاب عنها معنى التعليم.. و غيرها".
Introduction
The group exhibition is co-curated by Noor Aldabbagh and Qaswra Hafez and introduces new emerging artists from Saudi Arabia alongside more established ones. 37 artists individually interpret 'flow' within their selves or as reflected in our societies, working within their practices in various contemporary mediums including painting, sculpture, photography, video, installation, textile art, ceramic, collage and others. Topics concerning the artists include migration, urban sprawl, dissemination of technology, spirituality, and the experience of memory.
“Last year we issued an open call for entry to any Saudi artist to submit a personal interpretation of ‘flow’; building on their individual practice within any contemporary art medium. We picked the most compelling concepts,” Noor Aldabbagh, Banafsajeel Founder and co-curator of the exhibition. “The artist’s works mostly reflect the unstable conditions surrounding us today: The flow of refugees across geographical borders; the flow of people’s private moments across social media channels; the flow of concrete in rapid urban developments, which threatens to bury our history...” explained Qaswra Hafez, Founder of Hafez Gallery and co-curator of the exhibition.
