My practice operates as a Lab of Repair, a space dedicated to the meticulous study and celebration of endurance. At the center of this inquiry is the Lily. I do not approach the flower as a decorative object, but as a direct embodiment of the woman, a living structure that carries the weight of its own history.

The act of stitching is an intervention. It is the tangible manifestation of survival. I am interested in the "Labor of Repair" not as a means to restore something to its original, "perfect" state, but as a transformative process that honors the break. To stitch is to engage in a slow, deliberate ritual of holding things together; it is a refusal to let the narrative scatter.

Conceptually, I am exploring the point where vulnerability transitions into structural power. While a tear represents a moment of crisis, the repair represents a choice. By making these repairs visible, heavy, and intentional, I am redefining the scar as a site of reinforcement. The thread becomes a new anatomy, a complex network of history that binds the subject more tightly than before.

Ultimately, my work seeks to dignify the effort of remaining whole. It is an exploration of the architecture of the self, where the most heavily mended areas are not the weakest, but the most resilient. I am documenting the beauty of a life that has been broken, claimed, and fundamentally strengthened through the labor of the mend.

This ancestral artistry shaped her creative foundation, grounding her in the richness of tradition while encouraging her to reimagine its possibilities.

Lana’s academic journey led her to the American University of Beirut, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Design, followed by a Master’s in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York. Her time at the Guggenheim Museum further expanded her artistic perspective and shaped her understanding of art’s transformative potential.

Central to Lana’s work is the lily, a motif that symbolizes resilience, transformation, and empowerment. Intertwined with the ancient scripts of Tifinagh and Phoenician civilizations, her compositions transcend mere aesthetics, reimagining historical symbols into contemporary abstractions. Through the interplay of organic forms and geometric structures, she creates a visual language that is as rooted in the past as it is relevant to the present. Lana’s work has been showcased internationally, with exhibitions in New York, London, and the Middle East.
