The Legends of Motherland is more than an exhibition — it is a conversation between art and place, between Sara Al Abdali's vision and the living memory of Historic Jeddah.
At its heart is Abir Abusulayman: educator, heritage advocate, and the first Saudi woman to guide tours through Al Balad. Since 2011, she has walked these streets with purpose — co-founding Jeddah's Heart, contributing to UNESCO's heritage file for Historic Jeddah, and earning France's Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2024 for her cultural contributions.
Her voice, fluent in Arabic, English, and French, carries the intimacy of someone who has spent over a decade not just studying this place, but protecting it. For Sara, this collaboration was essential: some stories can only be told by those who have given their lives to keeping them alive.
