Talk “Jeddah in the Eve of Modernity”

Join us for the talk “Jeddah in the Eve of Modernity” with expert in Islamic art and architecture Hidayah Abbas on 27th of March 2022.

This presentation will highlight:

• Hints of Jeddah's history.
• The city's significant landmarks and monuments in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
• The origin of the "ribat", its beginning and development.

When: 6PM

Where: front space of Rubat Al Khunji AlSaghir, Al Balad, Jeddah.

Participation is free. The talk will be led in English with Arabic translation.

This talk is part of the Art Residency Program | Al Balad: an initiative by the Ministry of Culture as part of the Quality of Life Program, which falls under the Vision 2030 umbrella.

• أهم معالم المدينة وآثارها في أواخر القرن التاسع عشر وأوائل القرن العشرين.
• أصل "الرباط"، بدايته وتطوره.

المكان: الساحة المفتوحة والأمامية لرباط الخنجي الصغير، منطقة البلد التاريخية ، مدينة جدة.

الحضور مجاني. ستُجرى المحاضرة باللغة الإنجليزية مع وجود ترجمة للغة العربية.
