Join us for the talk “Talking walls and beyond” on October 11th 2022
This presentation will highlight the importance of Al Balad as a hub of art and architecture through the experiences of Artist and Architect Abdelrahman AlShahed and Specialist Architect Mutaz AlShahrani.
Calligraphy and architecture are important communication tools in Abdelrahman AlShahed’s artistic discourse and contemporary practices.
Mutaz AlShahrani is currently engaged in the efforts of saving and restoring the heritage buildings of Al Balad (old Jeddah).

The talk will be led in Arabic with English translation.
This talk is part of the Art Residency Program | Al Balad: an initiative by the Ministry of Culture as part of the Quality of Life Program, which falls under the Vision 2030 umbrella.
