We are thrilled to announce Hafez Gallery’s very first participation in Paris Photo 2025, taking place from November 13 to 16 2025 at the iconic Grand Palais in Paris. This landmark moment marks the first time both a Saudi gallery and a Saudi artist are presented at the fair.
For this special occasion, we proudly present the work of Nora Alissa, a Riyadh-based photographer acclaimed for her insightful exploration of human relationships with place, culture, and memory through her lens. Holding a master’s degree from Goldsmiths, University of London, Nora bridges academic rigor with innovative photographic techniques, creating work that resonates with both historical depth and poetic sensitivity.
Her series Li’b (“play”) invites viewers into the world of Saudi folkloric dance, capturing the vibrant transmission of cultural heritage and communal pride, traditions now recognized by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage. Through Li’b, Nora reflects on themes of love, aspiration, and belonging across time, from past rituals to future hopes.
Following her acclaimed showing at the inaugural Islamic Arts Biennale in Jeddah, Nora Alissa’s participation at Paris Photo reinforces her position as a leading voice in contemporary Saudi art and global photography.
We warmly invite you to visit Hafez Gallery’s booth C18 to experience this significant debut.
